Approximately 150 Japanese macaques live in the mountain valleys of the Jigokudani Yaen-koen monkey park in Yamanouchi, Nagano prefecture, Japan. Also called snow monkeys, the wild macaques are well known for spending their winter months keeping warm and relaxing in the waters of a natural hot spring. For years, the park has been a top destination for tourists, and its popularity is now rebounding as Japan has relaxed some of its COVID-19 restrictions.

The Japanese macaque (Macaca fuscata ), also known as the snow monkey, is a terrestrial Old World monkey species that is native to Japan. Colloquially, they are referred to as "snow monkeys" because some live in areas where snow covers the ground for months each year – no other non-human primate is more northern-living, nor lives in a colder climate. Individuals have brownish grey fur, pinkish-red faces, and short tails.

The interactive article was surprisingly compatible with different browsers (google and safari) as opposed to my zen garden page. It uses Google Fonts and has a fixed header and footer with button hover effects. However, there were a little be compatibility issues with the page on mobile devices as the design is optimized for larger screens and the elements did not adjust accordingly in size for it to be more legible. Without using CSS Flexbox, the layout appears differently on mobile devices or when the screen is minimized, slightly breaking the visual design of the page.
